FAQs
Is this swim lessons or competitive?
Our summer program is meant to be fun and relaxed but is also a competitive program. A basic level of swim skills will be required (see next question…). Contact Cashmere City Pool for lessons.
Do we have to try out to make the team?
Swimmers who are new to the team, and age 8 and younger are required to prove that they can swim one stroke for 50 yards unassisted (down and back, doesn’t have to be perfect stroke) and tread water for 1 minute.
Swimmers who are new to the team, and age 9 and older are required to prove that they can swim two strokes for 100 yards unassisted and tread water for 1 minute.
Our requirements are more strict than other league teams due to the number of swimmers in our pool during practice and for the safety concerns of all.
What are the fees to join the team?
For the 2024 season, the registration fee is $125.00 per swimmer. A swim cap may be needed to adhere to the uniform requirements, with a cost of $5.00 per cap. Outside of those fees, the only additional costs to be prepared for are travel.
What if we have family travel plans this summer?
Please attempt to make the short six-week season a top priority for attendance. If you are going to miss more than 2 weeks out of the season—please do not register. If you are planning to miss more than 2 swim meets, please talk with leadership. The home meets require tremendous volunteer support and when swimmers are gone, so are volunteers.
In addition, every year, our team fills up and we deny interested swimmers. If you are not committed, consider giving your spot to someone who is.
What should I bring to Swim Meets?
Arrive ready to swim, wearing suit and with your goggles, swim cap and a towel. Maybe backups of all 3! Other items include: Sharpie to write events on swimmers, food, water, umbrella or shade tent, sunscreen, hats, portable charger so you can stay up to date on the events via our app.
Is there a team uniform?
Our team colors are Navy Blue and Orange. Team swim caps are required at meets.. Suits may be purchased based on your preference—orange and navy blue preferred.
